About this program
The Alyce All-Stars program exists to highlight Alyce Customers and Friends who have mastered the art of “personal experience.”
An All-Star prioritizes Building Rapport, Earning Trust, and Generating Loyalty over making someone feel like just another face in the crowd.
All-Stars challenge the status quo and – while they’re not officially Alyce employees – we consider them an extension of our team. They find creative ways to infuse our core values of Give First, Give Consistently, Be Crafty, Seize the Present, and Unwrap the Possibility into their unique way of doing business.
This week’s All-Star is Michal Porat, ABM Marketing Manager at Gympass!

Q: Share with us some of your personal interests?
I love sports and physical activity which is really fun because I’m working for a company that actually deals with a lot of institutions that enable physical activity like gyms. I’ve also run three half marathons and hope to run a full marathon, maybe in Boston one day.
I actually became a fitness instructor in college, starting as a personal trainer and then teaching spin classes so physical activity is a big part of my life.
I also love reading and going to the movies – which is harder these days, and traveling. I also have a son who’s almost two so we spend a lot of time with him
Q: What song is on repeat right now for you?
Something by The Beatles.
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A doctor.
Q : What’s your favorite thing about the place where you live? Why and how do you take advantage of it?
I grew up in Israel, I’m Israeli and I love Tel Aviv. There’s the beach and the city and I think it’s one of the most dynamic places to live and also to visit.
But living now in Hoboken, I’m really close to New York and being able to see it in its full glory is really beautiful.
Q: What would be the title of your memoir?
I’ve traveled a lot but am also a homebody so I think it would be called something like “Finding My Home All OVer The World”.
Q: What’s something you consider yourself to be ok at but not great at?
Cooking. I’m not great at it but I really like cooking.
Q: What is the best gift you have ever received?
Being a mom.
Q: Beach, safari, or forest vacation?
Definitely the beach. I can sit and relax or I can get up and walk along the water, it doesn’t matter to me as long as I’m at the beach.
Q: If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Listen to your heart and follow your dreams.
Q: Would you rather be an olympic gold medalist or win a Nobel Prize? And why?
Olympic Gold Medalist, I think. For running.
Q: Are you a morning person or a night owl? How do you like to start your day?
Morning person. Before I had my son I would wake up early and go to the gym but now I like to spend time with him before I take him to day care. Then I do some sort of physical activity, even if its’ yoga or stretching before work.
Q: How did you meet your childhood best friend?
In first grade, the first day of school in art class she was using scissors that I also wanted to use so I went up to her and started talking and asked if we could share her scissors.
We stayed friends through school and ended up having 3 more girls join our friend group as best friends and we’re still really close to this day.
Q: If you could live through any event in history, what event would that be?
Definitely the signing of the declaration of independence for Israel 73 years ago
